Mayfield Bonfire Night is one of the big early-season Sussex Bonfire celebrations, and the 2026 event is now confirmed for Saturday 19 September 2026. The official Mayfield Bonfire Society says the celebrations run from about 6:00pm to 10:30pm.
Mayfield is particularly impressive because there aren't just one but three torchlit processions through the village. The society says the procession can stretch for more than a mile, involving around 5,000 burning torches. Around 30 visiting bonfire societies typically participate, and thousands of spectators come into Mayfield.
